Who we are

Our history

A women-led movement born in Ijebu Ode in the early 1990s, turning community solidarity into lasting support for girls and women.

Patnoch Rockless Privileged Foundation began in the early 1990s in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, when a small circle of women decided that poverty and lack of opportunity should not define the future of their daughters. These founding women were traders, teachers, community leaders and mothers who saw the same pain around them: bright girls leaving school, widows struggling to feed their children, talented young women with no chance to use their gifts.

What started as informal visits to families in need soon grew into a community initiative. The women pooled contributions from their own pockets, shared food, paid part of school fees and quietly stepped in where they could. People began to notice that whenever there was a girl out of school or a woman in serious need, this group of women would appear asking one simple question, “How can we help you stand again?”

From the beginning, education for girls sat at the centre of our mission. We supported girls with school fees, uniforms, books and examination costs. We matched them with mentors—successful women from different professions who could guide them and show them that a girl from Ijebu Ode can become anything she chooses.

As our impact became visible, our work expanded beyond education alone. Patnoch Rockless Privileged Foundation started small-business support for women, basic financial literacy, and vocational training in practical skills. Many of the women who joined our programmes were once beneficiaries themselves who later returned to lift others up.

Over the years, we have built strong partnerships with schools, religious institutions, community leaders and local authorities across Ogun State. Together, we advocate for the rights of girls to stay in school, speak against harmful practices that limit women, and promote policies that give women and girls a fair chance.

Today, we stand as a testimony of what determined women can build when they refuse to accept poverty as destiny. Every scholarship awarded, every business started and every girl who returns to say “Thank you, I made it” adds a new line to our story.
